Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual therapy that has evolved over the past two centuries. It uses well-honed observation, palpation and clinical diagnosis skills to identify the body imbalances and stresses that are causing the patients' symptoms.
These stresses may be distant to the site of pain but must be treated in order to allow full recovery. Osteopathy helps by taking a "whole body" approach to assessing and addressing all the relevant factors contributing to the complaint.
By diagnosing the underlying cause of the problem, the goal of osteopathic treatment is not only pain relief, but also prevention of reoccurrence for acute conditions, and gradual recovery from more chronic diseases.
At all times, Osteopathy aims to improve its patients' long-term health and vitality - and in order to achieve this durably, treatments may also incorporate nutrition advice, exercise prescription (an exercise plan), therapeutic massage and other treatment modalities.
