Massage and the benefits of relaxation

Massage and the benefits of relaxation
I would like to share with you the benefits of massage and how it is linked to relaxation.

As the "Zen" in my clinic name (AgnesZen) suggests, achieving a state of relaxation for my clients is one of my main priorities.

Massage can bring many benefits – but something that is often overlooked is how it can induce a state of relaxation and contribute to our positive wellbeing.

What are the benefits of being relaxed?

This may seem like a silly question! But in the world in which we live, especially in London, moments of relaxation are at a premium as we try to avoid becoming merely a list of things to do.
But by finding a state of true relaxation, even for a short period of time, we can improve our physical health, improve our memory, it can help us make better decisions, helps us lose weight - and can even increase your sex drive!

How does massage help us achieve relaxation?

Massage causes physiological alterations throughout your body. Through gentle, safe touches in the right areas, your heart beat and rate of breathing will begin to slow, your blood pressure will decrease, your production of stress hormones reduces and your muscles unwind – leaving you in a state of relaxation.

I often have clients who come in to my salon talking about how busy their lives are and how hectic everything is for them – but when they get ready to leave it’s clearly visible that all that stress has been left behind. Massage really can help us think more clearly and put things in to perspective.

What can I expect at Agnes Zen?

I offer both sports and relaxing massages which I can adapt to meet your requirements. Massage therapy can help you with a number of ailments - including recovery from injury, stress relief, digestive problems, insomnia, aches and pains plus many more.
Minimising the impacts of these conditions is going to leave you in a more relaxed and positive frame of mind.
Having the right atmosphere is also very important and at Agnes Zen I have tried to create a small piece of tranquillity in West London, where you can forget about your everyday stresses for an hour or so and try to find your inner "zen".

Massage by itself probably won’t solve all your problems!

Please don't get me wrong - massage is not a magic solution to all the problems in your life, but if you combine massage alongside things like mediation, yoga, nutrition, exercise - a general focus on your internal wellbeing - you will likely find yourself more relaxed, more happy and sorry about the pun - "more zen!"

Finally, you don’t need an excuse to enjoy a massage!

It isn’t a prerequisite that you need to have a health concern to come and have a massage! Many of my clients come regularly to have a massage because they know how important it is to give themselves some “me” time where they can put their phones on silent, forget about all the errands and just enjoy the peace and tranquillity that comes from an Agnes Zen massage.
