In Sanskrit, yoga is defined as Yogas Citta Vrtti Nirodhah, which means “the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind”. However, when the word Yoga is mentioned most people immediately think of physical practices for stretching, strengthening and stress reduction. This is just one aspect of the yogic science, which is used to facilitate the real practice of yoga - the understanding of and complete mastery over the mind.
There are several different types of yoga and many disciplines within the practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. At Bridge to Health we like to take elements from different practices to come up with a practice that meets your individual needs for a healthy physical and mental well-being.
