Rehabilitation Pilates Instructor
Specialism: PilatesI am very excited to be part of the Bridge to Health Team and to have the opportunity to contribute to their holistic approach to well-being.
I joined the Team in March 2019 having qualified with Body Control Pilates in 2016.
I was first introduced to Pilates after a visit to an osteopath following the birth of my first child, when I was struggling with severe lower back pain. Since then, Pilates has become my one "must do" practice, enabling me to develop my core strength and self-awareness, and in turn make huge improvements to my postural alignment.
After spending years in a sedentary job, I decided to step away from my established career as a professional accountant to focus on teaching others the long-term health benefits of practising Pilates. It feels incredibly satisfying to see my clients progress and experience a similar journey to myself: developing self-awareness, strength and better postural habits that have radiated into their daily life. I love to hear this; it's what keeps me motivated.
I have the privilege of working closely with a cross-section of the community, giving me the opportunity to get to know my clients' strengths and weaknesses and how to safely challenge them.
I try to inject my passion for running and mindfulness into my Pilates sessions where appropriate, and as a qualified run leader with England Athletics, I have led a number of track training sessions for my running clients with a focus on the three key Pilates principles: alignment, breath and core strength.
I look forward to the opportunity of working with you and hopefully instilling a similar enthusiasm for Pilates into your life as I experience myself!
