Barbara Barakos BSc (Hons), LicAc, MBAA
Specialism: Acupuncture TherapyI first experienced Acupuncture whilst travelling across Asia during a career break driven by my life-long curiosity for ancient philosophy and healing arts. Acupuncture helped me tremendously on my own journey to health and now, as a practitioner, I deeply value the power of working with the body’s own healing intelligence to bring about long-lasting changes towards a healthy body and mind.
Before training as an Acupuncturist, I managed a sales operation for an international publisher. Working long hours in challenging environments whilst expecting my body to keep up with the pace of life made me really appreciate the importance of allowing for the time and space to rebalance and heal. This experience helps me relate to the various physical and emotional challenges my patients face and to support them on their own journey to health, vitality and peace of mind.
I trained at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine and graduated with a BSc honours degree and Licentiate of Acupuncture. I practice an integrated style of Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. By viewing all symptoms holistically and with a compassionate appreciation of my patients’ individual experience, I aim to address the superficial symptoms of illness whilst working to bring balance on a deeper constitutional level to improve their overall health and vitality.
Acupuncture’s ability to restore balance and health in a natural and non-invasive way allows me to help my patients with the symptoms of a wide variety of conditions including:
|Musculoskeletal pain||Menopausal issues|
As a fully registered and insured member of the British Acupuncture Association (BAA) I adhere to strict codes of safe practice and professional conduct, ensuring the highest standard of care for my patients.
