She became interested in different approaches to health and well being during the 1980's and was drawn to Traditional Chinese Medicine with its natural philosophy and emphasis on working with the whole person. As well as studying Chinese Medicine she also studied western conventional bio medicine.
She has a particular interest in women's health using her knowledge and experience to help women of all ages. Acupuncture is a wonderful way to balance body and mind supporting overcoming symptoms such as insomnia, headaches, hot flushes or low energy. Health challenges can include digestive, urinary, emotional or musculoskeletal. Very often apparently unrelated symptoms are in fact interconnected and when looked at from a Chinese Medicine perspective can be treated very successfully.
By regulating and generating Qi, Acupuncture helps to achieve greater energy and vitality. It is also great for enhancing feelings of calm, contentment and peace of mind.
Acupuncture is wonderful for unlocking blocked energy. The feeling of being blocked may manifest in a number of ways, eg. frozen shoulder, recurring headaches, failing relationships, or an inability to plan for the future. These are examples of temporary states of disease but they can linger and become chronic. When this happens this can lead to a vicious downward spiral where the mind and body have no real connection, Acupuncture can make a real difference in these chronic conditions. Acupuncture does not force solutions on patients. It simply allows people to find their own healing path. This brings with it a feeling of being in control of one’s life and all the positive benefits that flow from a pro-active attitude to life.
