I have been seeing Mathieu from the Bridge to Health clinic for roughly around 5 years after he was recommended to me by a friend. As a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor I have a very active lifestyle, and to quote Mathieu "push my body to extremes!" So, unfortunately injuries and niggles are a hazard of the job.
I first attended the clinic due to a pelvis and back injury that began to impact on my job. I was a little nervous as I wasn't sure what to expect. However, Mathieu soon put me at ease. Although the treatment is very 'hands on' at no time did I feel uncomfortable. He explained exactly what treatment he was going to do, why he was doing it and the benefits to me. If I am totally honest, after my first session I felt like I had done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson due to the chronic state of my injury! However, the improvement I felt In my back and pelvis outweighed this and I continued to have regular sessions over the space of a month until I had fully recovered.
I have come to realise that for me personally, I need to look after and maintain my body as it is my tool for work. Through these sessions, I have been able to gain knowledge that I can not only apply to myself, but pass on to my clients too. I now attend the clinic every couple of months for maintenance treatments unless injury dictates otherwise, much like having an MOT on a car! I can even say I enjoy my sessions now (well most of the time!) and come out feeling like my body is renewed.
Mathieu and his colleagues knowledge and expertise is second to none. Whether you are an active or sedentary individual seeking advice or treatment I would highly recommend the clinic!
