What to Expect When you First Visit?
The following notes are for general guidance when you come to see us for osteopathic or massage treatment. If you have any specific concerns please speak to us prior to your appointment.
You are most welcome to bring someone with you to the appointment – partner, parent or friend.
Please bring a list of any medication (name and dosage) that you are using.
Although we aim to respect patient modesty at all times, be aware that clinical treatment methods may on occasion feel invasive, so please wear appropriate underwear for examination and treatment of your spine and other relevant physical areas. Alternatively, you can bring light, flexible clothing such as leggings and a sports top.
We will talk to you about what we find, and discuss our treatment approach with you during the session; feel free to ask any questions as we go along.
We have selected the exercises we most frequently advise our patients to do and turned them into short video clips.
How long will the session last?
The session will typically last 45 minutes all inclusive, but times may vary.
Please expect to settle payment on the day with cash or bank card. If you are insured, ask us for a receipt that you can submit for reimbursement - if in doubt, first check with your insurer that they will honour the treatment.
If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible; we will charge the full treatment fee for less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation.
If you are under the age of 16, please come with a parent or legal guardian who can give written consent and witness examination and treatment. As a young person, it may in any case be useful to be accompanied by a parent who may more accurately recall past health events.
